Seven Samurai

Watched Seven Samurai over the holidays and decided to do a personal piece based on it.

The movie takes place during the end of the Sengoku era, characterised by being one of constant war and aggression. It is during this time that the Samurai class was at it’s height. Shortly after, when the Tokugawa’s established their dictatorship, piece was maintained throughout the land which rendered the once warrior class useless. They had to resort to getting second jobs in order to survive.

I feel like the movie ends with a hint of what is to come – who really won and who lost? The samurai know. Worth watching this movie in my humble opinion.

Anyways, had a lot of fun trying out new ways of painting and I definitely (definitely) did not regret having seven horses in the scene (:
